 At the midnight on September 23, 1998, the Western Line changed its route, marking the end of the ninety-year operation of the old route from Sanyi to Houli. The reminiscence of the old train station, tunnels, bridges, and remains of broken bridges appeals to countless visitors.
 Shengsing Train Station was once named“Shih Liou Fen Stop.” With an altitude of 402.326 meters, the station was the highest point in the Western Line when it was built in 1906. There is a memorial stele in the train station marking the altitude of Shengsing Train Station.
 Shengsing Train Station is a typical Japanese wooden train station. The columns were connected with tenons instead of nails. The pikes and serrations are also quite rare. It is alleged that the design was based on Fengshuei to quell the bad spirits.
